It’s been a while since my last blog and I’ve actually got loads of excuses! I’ve been away on a surprise holiday to Ibiza to celebrate a gorgeous friends 30th! The boyfriend did good with that early Christmas present! What better gift could I ask for than spending quality time with my best friends on our favourite island. My phone has been a little worse for wear so I didn’t bother using it – hence no Ibiza updates. On our way home via Barcelona Rhys and I both caught the most horrendous virus which made us utterly useless for days and also frustrated as there was no one to look after us. Cue the violin. Anyway, we’re back to our healthy selves and I now have a new phone so all is well in the world!
Now the party is over I can share the present I created for the birthday girl! Out of all the creative and talented friends I have she is definitely up there at the top with being one the most gifted and versatile creators! The amount of amazing outfits she has made for people is ridiculous. I am the proud owner of an extremely comfortable jump suit she made for my 30th and I wanted to give her a gift that celebrated her talent. The box frame was purchased and I added everything else to personalise it. The words ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ say it all 🙂 and all of the photos are of her friends wearing outfits that she created for them. The heart with dressing room mirror bulbs is to show the love she has to give and how she never fails to make you feel glamorous and the scattered stars and fairy lights represent how she lights up many of our lives! I know it’s all a bit soppy but this is another chance to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
This DIY is to show you how best to insert the fairy lights. You could put anything you like inside your box fame! Perfect for any occasion and it can be personalised in any way! Anniversary memories, Hen do funny moments, even keep sakes from the beginning of a relationship to say I love you!
What you will need:
· Box frame
· Shiny sprinkles (I used stars)
· Photos or images on card
· Card for the background of the photo
· Foam pads
· Sticky tape
· Fairy lights (Mine had 25 bulbs on)
Take the front off the frame and lie face down. Scatter your chosen sprinkle and leave aside until the end.
To arrange the images or chosen pictures you’re putting in the fame use the paper insert that comes with the frame. This way you’ll know how much you can fit in it.
Cut a piece of card to fit in the back of the frame for the background Then stick your arrangement onto the card with foam pads and glue. Making some stick out more than others to create more of an effect with the light. All my photos are slightly lower and higher than each other and some are overlapping.
Equally place the fairy light bulbs all around the card, depending on how many bulbs you have. Try any make sure that any wire is placed behind the card and you only have the bulbs on the front.
when you have all the bulbs equally in place secure them with sticky tape at the back ensuring the end of the wire with the light switch on is fed through the small gap at the back of the frame. Once all is secure the frame can be assembled and displayed (or gifted 😉 )
